Join us in southern California for this timely and informative course where instructor Dan Purvine will provide you the latest updates on key areas affecting A/E firm indirect cost rates and public sector contracts. Using an interactive approach, he will cover key risk areas related to developing indirect cost rates, including how to evaluate costs for FAR allowability and how to establish and document your systems and controls to achieve state DOT approval. Through examples and activities, participants will gain an understanding of acceptable practices for compensation, labor internal controls, and evaluation of FAR allowability of costs.
Topics will also include issues related to vehicle and equipment costs and home and field overhead rates. For firms doing business in California, Dan will cover changes in the Caltrans procurement and financial review process for A/E contracts, requirements for prevailing wage costs, and Caltrans requirements applicable to local agency contracts. A discussion of key areas where costs are often challenged in state DOT reviews will help to prepare participants for the review process. This course will benefit A/E firms and CPA firms involved in developing or auditing indirect cost rates.
